Aren't the solder balls a result of the blowholes? you know the solder that came from the blowholes is now the solderballs on the resist! hahaha :-) Russ

Thanks for your response, I changed the attachment to a PDF. It will be easy enough to set up if we need to do this. I was hoping the test was a little more formal and documented but quick and dirty evaluation have their place as well.

Dave: You should see a solder smudge on the gold plating where the ball was attached, if there is (was) solder reflow during either the (1) BGA fabrication, (2) your BGA attach, and / or (3) your BGA removal. You rework will not remove the solder
