Which type? * Solder beads (mid-chip solder balls, attached to the waste line of your chip caps and resistors) This is more paste volume related. * Solder balls that tend to be more randomly scattered (as in spattered)? This tends to be more profile

Solder Ball Attach (BGA)

We are attaching 0.50mm diameter SAC 305 solder balls onto 0.38 diameter Au plated pins placed at a 0.80mm pitch (pins are pressed into a plastic insulator). A tacky flux is then stenciled onto the pins using a stencil with.a 0.38mm diameter aperture

Comments are: * A good looking solder ball does not necessarily mean that you have a good solder connection between the ball and the pad. We've all seen a bright and shiney solder ball on the floor, but that doesn't mean there's a good metalurgical

Hi ! Try fresh DRY solder paste... Keep solder paste in a sealed container until the moment of use. Humidity absorbed by the soldering paste becomes vapor violently at the moment of heating it , expelling the solder in form of balls everywhere.

Would be glad to offer some assistance, but I've got a couple of questions first: 1) What type of supplemental flux are you using? (If any) 2) Is your problem consistent across all assemblers, or can you trace the assemblies with solder ball issues b

Selective soldering pallets and solder balls

We're trying a selective soldering pallet for the first time with mixed reviews. Are solder balls a prevalent problem with this process? Most of them seem to correspond with pallet wall locations....is it too much turbulence from the rotary chip wav
