Q1 Are there any standard regulating the subject? Very few infos found on IPC. A1 Were unaware of standards for packing and storage for most types of boards. * IPC 4553 standard for Immersion Silver Finish, 3.8 Packing and Storage. * J-STD-033 and E

Well, im not sure what plane you guys are on, but I can back up my what im talking about. Ya see I wnet to Soltec traingin back in 1995 for our new wave. I got a diploma proofing that I know what i'm talking about. no one else in my company has on

ENIG vs Flash Gold

Electronics Forum | Fri Mar 24 18:07:25 EST 2006 | Chris

Flash gold is just thin gold plating over electroless nickel or electrolytic nickel. Flash gold is electrolytic gold where the panel is connected to a plating rectifier and current causes the plating process to occur. Gold thickness is controlled b

Flux Residues In Lead Free Wave Soldeing Process

Electronics Forum | Sat May 27 02:52:20 EDT 2006 | TimS

Gentlemen I have managed to pull myself together after banging my head. I am not sure the flux volume is the total solution here. All spray processes deposit flux in a similar manner, that is to say the vast majority of material sprayed onto the PCB

Palladium poor wetting

Electronics Forum | Tue May 23 21:14:22 EDT 2006 | davef

First, where the temperatures that aare mentioned in the original post measured? Second, it sounds like the PdAg component terminations are not seeing enough heat [your soldering iron touch-up proves this]. Your 232*C peak is the absolute minimum s

Low volume prototyping

Electronics Forum | Fri Jul 13 17:16:49 EDT 2007 | jmelson

I just got a used Philips CSM84 pick and place machine for $1500. I had to widen a doorway and rent a forklift to get it inside, as well as have it shipped. So, the total cost was much higher, but still under $10 K. I may have gotten lucky on this

Used equipment

Basem, I can't direct you to a dispensing machine, as I'm not familiar with them. But, I can tell you what we do. We specialize in short volume, prototype quantity runs. Since prototypes and short quantities are not conducive to volume operations

How long does it tkae for Tin-Lead solder to rust if put outside

Electronics Forum | Thu Sep 27 23:24:22 EDT 2007 | mika

Fe2+(aq) + 2e- "harply, but this is of no consequence since OH- ions are always present, even in pure water.) The cations then react with the OH- or even the H+ ions and dissolved oxygen to form a variety of compounds, which constitute rust: Fe2+(aq

Cleanning no clean residu

Electronics Forum | Fri Oct 19 13:57:17 EDT 2007 | Michael Konrad

Hi Rob, I must take issue with your statement By definition, no clean solder can be not-cleaned. All no-clean fluxes can be cleaned. Whether or not one cleans no-clean depends on a variety of factors. More than eighty percent of all post reflow

Fiducial replacements?

Electronics Forum | Fri Nov 30 18:22:40 EST 2007 | mika

Hi Paul M, There are no silly questions but silly answers.. and here is maybe a few if I understand you correctly: If you consider place anything less than a 1.27mm (50mil) pitch component down or a chip less than a 1210, hey it maybe don't even work
