What does OA stand for?

Electronics Forum | Wed May 23 10:19:18 EDT 2001 | Spanky

I know that OA is water soluable. But what exactly does the acronym "OA" stand for? "Organic something-or-other". I've checked the archive and can only find reference to oa, not what it actually stands for. thanks, spanky

QFN standoff, industry standard

There is no industry standard for BTC stand-off height. "IPC-7093A Design and Assembly Process Implementation for Bottom Termination SMT (BTC) Components" just finished "Final Draft for Industry Review" in December 2018. It mentions stand-off height

Listed in the archive are suppliers of lead forming equipment. Most have equipment that can do the stand-ups you require. Yes you may be able to find this used. Yes you may be able to find someone with that machine near you who after you buy the t

AOI Systems

I agree with stand-alone as well. We're a CM and have three AOI's, we keep them all stand-alone. We use them for paste inspection, first articles off SMT equipment, QC articles from SMT, hand assembly QC, TH first article and TH QC. We treat AOI as

SMT Design: Package distance and stand-off height

Electronics Forum | Wed Nov 12 04:34:17 EST 2008 | kywl

Hi all, Assuming that i were to design a PCB and there are multiple components, what is the minimum spacing required to ensure that i won't have problems in my SMT process later on? Also, is there a minimum component stand-off height spec as well?

Re: Adhesive Dispenser Vs. Screen Printing Adhesives Pros and Cons

Screen printing has much lower profile than dispensing. So it is suitable for chips without body stand-off, (Even sot23 has stand-off). But is is much faster. Dispensers can not catch up with some chip shooters.

I will second the previous answer that it stands for Organic Acid. "Acid" being the key word as to why it must be thoroughly cleaned.

OA stands for Organic Activated. In the good old fo SMT processes, a lot of different fluxes are being considered. RA, RMA, OA, etc. If you look at the present no-clean paste, it is actually RMA.

PBGA and CBGA

Electronics Forum | Thu Aug 17 23:44:26 EDT 2006 | guest

CBGA stands for Ceramic Ball grid array while PBGA stands for Ceramic Ball grid array. Noticable difference is the substrate used , one is using ceramic and one is using BT laminate. Regards
