The temp. was measured at the leads. We also did dipping test on those connectors, it turned out the solderablity of the pins was awful. We're now checking it with the supplier. Thank you all for the input.

How high a voltage? TV products use hundreds of volts on the vertical and horizonatal sync circuits. Historically, these consumer products were NOT cleaned. For your situation, contact your paste supplier.

Many years ago I remember the Philips CSM series SMT machines used a small tubular laser system for identifying fiducials on the PCB. Can anyone suggest suppliers for these devices. Thanks.

While you're waiting for others to respond, search the fine SMTnet Archives for previous discussions For instance, for contacts of suppliers of baking ovens look here: http://www.smtnet.com//forums/index.cfm?fuseaction=view_thread&CFApp=1&Thread_ID=

Try another solder paste manufacturer. Aim out of Rhode Island, Alpha and or Kester. I'm sure that they will be of better assistance than the current supplier. Good Luck

You ned to speak with an apps engineer from a paste supplier that can go through their alloys. I know Indium has such alloys. Any vendor should be able to supply you a list of alloys avbl in NC paste with their liquidous points.

Thanks guys. I am from a subcon, we can't change the solder paste supplier and there is only one approved vendor for this component. I think I will try on the component solderability. Regards

It's a bunch of test pins that the board sits on to get tested. HP is a popular supplier of this kind of machine.

When you say "very old" do you mean it's discontinued? My supplier is telling me they still sell it. In this case, the residue is pooling up and clogging up a switch. That's what we are considering too much. Thanks.
