Mix Technology Board Processes

Electronics Forum | Mon Apr 23 09:49:57 EDT 2007 | realchunks

Hi T, Gluing parts to the back side for wave solder is a widely used process. Running waves pallets is probably the last way I would want to run a wave. There are just so many things that have to be done to assure good quality first time pass, tha

"If you wanna get a "warm n fuzzy" that your cleaner is capable of doing the job. One thing you can do is what I was taught when selecting a cleaner to buy, is get yourself some glass plates (heat resistant tempered glass to be sure!) and make yourse

Hi Dub J, I have worked for a few companies that did 3D sampling and found the data they produce to be useless. In the real world they are slow, so that means you won't sample every board. Now if you're not sampling every board, and you start to r

My-Data TP9-UFP info please!!!

Electronics Forum | Mon Apr 30 09:55:50 EDT 2007 | rgduval

We're running an older TP9-U, and clocking in somewhere around 3000 cph, realistically. Placements, however, are very accurate. Works fine down to 0402's, high-pin count QFPs, etc. My -U doesn't do great on optical centering...it works, but it's a

Hi, I wondered that too, which is why I originally replied. However I think what's most important for me anyway, is I am so incredibly busy trying to keep up with the latest techniques in SMT and electronics, that I have no idea about these issues

TAL Too Long - dull solder joints, dewetting. TAL Too Short - cold solder, insufficient wetting. You want TAL to be as short as possible (but not lower than 30 seconds), but long enough for every solder joint to be above TAL for at least 30 seconds.

Mf Eng, I am impressed! A real Engineer, quoting from his sophomore year Thermodynamics class, "energy is neither created nor destroyed." I believe that's the 1st Law? I agree with you on your points, 'cause it'd be my guess that if the pot is lef

Solder wave shutdown

Electronics Forum | Thu May 24 15:47:10 EDT 2007 | mfgengr

Just to clarify: I'd say that it will potentially save money by turning the wave off at night, but the savings are minimal. But...If your power rates are cheaper during off peak hours (at night) like some power companies offer, it may save you money

Wow, I surfed this guy's homepage, and he seems like a complete imbicile: http://michaelbluejay.com/ He'd be the type of guy (with ZERO credentials - he's either a OUT, or has a couple semesters at Austin Comunity College) that you'd see touting th

Kester paste problems

Electronics Forum | Thu May 24 08:55:25 EDT 2007 | ck_the_flip

Here's some quick things to look for: 1. Does your solder paste feel like concrete, does it roll-up into your squeegee blades, and stick to your stencil? If so, your problem is the solder paste. The mixture of powder and flux, or metal load is ou
