We use dry for everything. There used be be a corroding problem with the fluid for wet wiping, but I'm sure they must have solved that by now.

arent there environmentally friendly solvents (i have seen some from 3M) that can be used in a vapor degreaser. i was also planning to use the vapor degreaser to clean boards prior to conformal coating

I am reworking some BGAs and just trying to find the easiest way to do it. Can you use tacky flux without solder on the pads to reflow? or do you have to have solder on the pads before placing the BGA to reflow? Any info is appreciated. thanks

We are using our SPM to .012" pitch with excellent results. It has the manual vision. (two cameras with user defined outlines used with mylar alignment) EDIT - I meant 16mil pitch, not 12!

Jobbie, We are also not using the Mydata forks for the vibe feeders. We take a tube for the vibe component and cut a pick pocket. We use the back of the forks as stops. This has eliminated many of the pick problems from the vibes. Good Luck Chris

I have been using Alpha 856 for about 8 years. It is an excellent flux. Today we are using it in a new flow solder machine that has a spray fluxer and it seems to be working fine. I can be contacted at jlalicker@amitulsa.com

I was looking for an stencil design for a 0.5mm pitch uBGA. Pad size is 0.38mm in diameter. We have been using 5mil stencil with type 3 no clean paste. What size aperture should we be using? Any suggestions?

We used durastone, with a profile routed out to expose certain areas & protect others. Durastone costs peanuts, and the tool room uses a small cheap Micromat router.

Kenny, Why are you using a step? The components you list could be done with the 7 mil stencil. I would use 6 mil myself but I assume you may need the 7 mil for other components you do not list. Jerry

I may be wrong here, but it sure looks like used equipment brokers have been spamming E-mails to myself and other members of this site from our contact info that is available here. Anybody else seeing this ?
