Hi after an enviromental test 85C/85RH, for 3 months (powered), of an electronic assembly with edge finger tabs ENIG finished (nickel 5micron, gold 0.02micron), the nickel disappears completely under the gold (due to corrosion, I think). Does anyone

Things don't disappear completely. If something caused nickel corrosion, the nickel corrosion by-product would be in place of the nickel. Is it possible that ... There never was any nickel? We know that the nickel will diffuse into the copper. Th

Thanks... anyway I confirm, the nickel disappear (verified by cross section)and a strange substance greyish above gold, covering the tabs after test. I don't know the reason for this phenomenon. I don't believe that with proper electrolytic nickel fi

We're expereincing issues in our pick and place machine due to what I consider a server warping of the PCB. The PCB is received this way from our PCB manufacturer. Before I push to much, I would like to know options for a cause. The warp is so bad,

To eliminate warping during processing, we have provided customers with composite fixtures to support the board on all 4 edges, with retractable pull down claps that can be added to the top of the PCB after the screen printing. Simply by pushing the

Does anyone know the correct way to measure the pitch of the cavities between the rows and columns of waffle trays? Everytime that we measure using a caliper, it is always off. Is there a formula to use to determine the exact center of the cavities?

Of course the best way is to get a dimensioned tray drawing if possible. The next best way is measure point to point over as many cavities as you can open your calipers up to. Divide the measurement by the number of pockets you spanned. This reduces

Could anyone recommend somewhere i could order a new AIPH4090 2.5mm nozzle for a Fuji IP2? I tried Fuji but they tell me that its no longer available from them and they have no alternative. I also might need to order extra feeders along with it.

Hey Dave, Thank you so much for the information. One of my friends suggested me that we have free DFM software’s offered by few PCB manufacturers which enables the designers to check their PCB design during the initial design process, preventing des

Recently we have been placing and reworking quite a few Linear LGA DC converter modules. These are LGA packages with integrated passive components which become easily disturbed in reflow. Even with perfect bumping techniques on the LGA using the poly
