If you have some budget left over from buying the machine, contact the guys at Pentagon EMS. They build a bullet-proof wave pallet. They can make a board specific, for each assembly, or a generic-adjustable one that can be used for most boards. I can

Question: Do you run your pallets hot or cold thru the wave? I ask this because if you run your pallets cold the board will never preheat to the correct temp. thus, your flux won't activate properly. James

Hi Guys, Quick question, does anyone know of any companies that referbish wave solder pallets. Ours are a little worse for wear, I know of BLT re impregnating the pallets, but can say that the pallet we tested the process on didn't look promising.

I have been tasked with creating an operating procedure for SMT and Wave pallet maintenance. Wash how, wash how often, PM schedule, etc. Was wondering if anyone might have a procedure in place they could share. Thanks much for any help. Roger

If you are using wave pallets, you could attach copper thieves to the pallet to draw the solder away from the leads.

Don't count out a wave pallet. if the led's are not an extremely tall part a pallet might be just the thing for running something like this at a higher volume.

Q: If you do not use a selective wave pallet does this not leave the possibility of solder flowing up thru the Via's on the board? A: No. Your board house can cover your vias with solder resist. Your board house can plug the vias. You can cover t
