Hi, I like DEK better. Each of them will have some advantages over the other one, but DEK Horizon software you can learn in a day without opening the manual. It is so easy to work with it.

I haven't worked with anything as small as 01005s, but something you didn't mention is the %metal of your paste. I just switch from 90% to 89.5% (AIM NC257-2) and could tell the difference. Just an idea...

I'd say it depends on the whole process you have. With our 5 zone oven, I could never get a profile that worked as well as SAC305, so we switched back.

Hi is me again If what you are looking is for the AOI to "see" the marking on a resistor theres the option of taking a picture of only the numbers in the resistor is not highly accurate but it works.

I don't have a placement machine available that will do the job reliably. An Air Vac DRS25 would work well if I had one but I can't afford it. A simple change to the part and cell would allow anyone to rework these parts without expensive equipment

waste of time - get your materials manager to work on the smt floor for a week and see how ridiculous this approach is! saving pennies while adding time between setups, looking for parts and as you said issues with pickup etc....
