Agilent Technologies Inc. (NYSE: A) today introduced the industry's first DisplayPort source compliance test solution that fully implements the tests identified in the DisplayPort physical layer compliance test specification. The DisplayPort standard defines a high-bandwidth interface for connecting laptops or personal computers with display monitors or connecting computers with high-definition consumer electronics devices.
The Agilent DisplayPort solution is designed for use by DisplayPort compliance test labs and by engineers designing DisplayPort devices who want to optimize their devices before they submit them to a DisplayPort compliance test lab for certification. In addition to its manual and automated DisplayPort physical layer compliance test capability, the solution offers a rich set of features to assist engineers in debugging and characterizing their DisplayPort designs.
The Agilent solution includes Infiniium DSO80000 Series oscilloscopes, U7232A DisplayPort compliance test software and a W2641A DisplayPort test point access adaptor. The Agilent solution supports DisplayPort tests as specified in the DisplayPort specification 1.1 and accommodates the requirements of the compliance test specification that is expected to be released in the near future.
"This automated solution for DisplayPort transcends the usual accuracy and ease-of-use features that has become a trademark for Agilent," said Jay Alexander, vice president of Agilent's Design Validation Division. "Now engineers are able to test their DisplayPort designs faster and more easily while maintaining superior signal quality and performance. This is made possible with the DisplayPort device configuration wizard, multiple connection models, user templates for configuration management, and test selection based on user configuration."
