BTU International's new PYRAMAX Solder Reflow Systems Win Two Awards at SEMICON West Exhibition

Jul 24, 2008

NORTH BILLERICA, Mass., July 23, 2008 BTU International, Inc. (Nasdaq:BTUI), a leading supplier of advanced thermal processing equipment for the native energy and electronics manufacturing markets, received in the past week two awards at the SEMICON West exhibition in San Francisco, Calif.

The first award the Advanced Packaging Award recognized the PYRAMAX 100 reflow system as the top product in the reflow equipment category. The second award the Attendee's Choice was for innovation and was voted on by attendees at the exhibition. The winner in this category was the PYRAMAX 75, which was introduced to the semiconductor packaging industry at the SEMICON West show.

We are very proud of these awards, said Paul van der Wansem, BTU chairman and CEO. These awards clearly reinforce our continued commitment to bringing innovative products to the electronics market.

Our customers in the electronics industry require products which provide the highest level of thermal performance, uniformity, yield and, most importantly, the lowest cost of ownership, said van der Wansem. The PYRAMAX 75 is the latest of a number of new products based on the PYRAMAX platform and we expect to launch yet another new product for the PC Assembly market at the Nepcon Shenzhen trade show in China this August.

Now in its eighth year, the Advanced Packaging Awards program is an annual celebration of product excellence in semiconductor packaging. Premier products based on the finest examples of creative advancement in technology in 21 key areas are chosen by a distinguished panel of industry experts.

Sponsored by Solid State Technology magazine, in cooperation with Advanced Packaging magazine, the Attendee's Choice Awards is now in its sixth year. SEMICON West attendees vote on products seen on the trade show floor. There are two separate competitions: one for Wafer Processing products and one for Final Manufacturing products.
