Program Finalized for Counterfeit Electronic Parts West

SMTA and CALCE are pleased to announce that the program is finalized for the Counterfeit Electronic Parts and Electronic Supply Chain Symposium West.  The program is available on-line at www.smta.org/counterfeit and registration is open. The event will take place December 4-6, 2012 at the Crowne Plaza Anaheim Resort in Anaheim, California.

Tuesday, December 4 will include sessions about Legislative and Regulatory Notices, Managing Counterfeit Risk, Business Practices, Passive Component Locating, Implementing a Successful Counterfeit Risk Mitigation Program, DNA Marking, Functional and Silicon Biometrics Testing, and Supply-Chain Assurance of Intelligent ICS.

Sessions on Wednesday, December 5 include presentations on Assessing Sourcing Strategies For Long Life Cycle Products, Component Obsolescence, Overview of Counterfeit IC's in the DoD Supply Chain, New Standards, Risk-Based Strategy, Counterfeit IC Avoidance for High Performance Memories and Microprocessors, Post-Decapsulation Information, Materials Properties and Authentication, Radiography Techniques, Detection Methods and Data Fusion.

Workshops taking place on Thursday, December 8 will focus on Counterfeit Part Avoidance and Detection, Managing Electronic Part Obsolescence, Roadmap to Addressing Counterfeit Components, Integration of Counterfeit Mitigation Policies into Quality Programs, and Reporting Counterfeits in GIDEP.

The conference is organized by SMTA in conjunction with the Center for Advanced Life Cycle Engineering (CALCE) at the University of Maryland. This symposium will be valuable to quality and reliability manager, supply chain managers, brand protection specialists, inspectors, marketing and procurement policy makers, contracts and legal management, security specialists and government agencies. The focus is to provide relevant information to the professionals that can be used for solving problems today while planning for a different business and technology environment in the future.
