The SMTA is soliciting applications from full time graduate-level students pursuing a degree and working on thesis research in electronic assembly, electronics packaging, or a related field, for the $5000 Charles Hutchins Educational Grant. Co-sponsored by the SMTA and CIRCUITS ASSEMBLY magazine, the Hutchins Grant was established in memory of past SMTA president, educator, mentor, and industry colleague, Dr. Charles Hutchins. The SMTA has awarded $80,000 to Hutchins Grant recipients since 1998!
All required materials are due Monday, April 14, 2014. The Grant Committee reviews all qualified applications and makes their recommendation to the SMTA Board of Directors. The grant will be presented at the SMTA International Conference in Rosemont, IL, September 28 – October 2, 2014.
