Feb 18, 2014 The SMTA is pleased to announce the program for the 2014 International Conference on Soldering and Reliability being held May 13-15 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. As a new group of engineers and scientists involved in the design and manufacture of medical devices and monitoring and control instruments must prepare for the requirements of RoHS recast, soldering and reliability professionals need to come together to share their knowledge and their vision for addressing the challenges. The event will be co-located with the SMTA Toronto Expo.
The technical conference features 26 presentations on topics ranging from new solder alloy tests to stencil printing and tin whisker mitigation. Speakers represent companies including Alpha, BAE International, Blackberry, Celestica, Indium Corporation, Rockwell Collins, Senju Comtek Corporation, Universal Instruments Corporation, and schools including Akita University, National University of Singapore, University of Toronto, and SUNY Binghamton.
On Wednesday, May 14, Martin Anselm, Ph.D., Manager AREA Consortium, Universal Instruments Corporation, will deliver the Keynote Presentation on "A View of the Electronics Industry Process, Reliability, and Materials Research Landscape."

The SMTA Toronto Expo and Tech Forum will run in conjunction with the ICSR program on Thursday, May 15th. Conference participants may attend the expo for no charge.
