SMTA Announces Partnership with MentorNet

Minneapolis, MN�The Surface Mount Technology Association (SMTA) announced its recent partnership with MentorNet to help facilitate a growing demand for mentorship opportunities for its student members. The partnership allows members of the SMTA privileges to resources offered by MentorNet such as its one-on-one program, easy matching to SMTA members, and the r�sum� database for students.

The MentorNet E-Mentoring Program is designed to provide information, encouragement, and support to community college, undergraduate, and graduate students, postdocs, and untenured faculty. Prot�g�s are matched in one-on-one e-mentoring relationships with mentors who have work experience, and MentorNet provides the training, coaching and support for them to pursue an 8-month mentoring relationship. Since 1998, MentorNet has matched more than 21,000 pairs of proteges and mentors with strong results.
