Kyzen, a leading global provider of environmentally responsible precision cleaning products for electronics and high-technology manufacturing operations, participated in another successful cleaning seminar in Ottawa, Canada with several well-known industry partners.

Kyzen participated in a two-day seminar that focused on conformal coating, dispensing and jet technology that took place September 14-15, 2011 at the Ottawa Convention Center in Ottawa, Canada. Mr. Jerry Frost of Nordson ASYMTEK chaired the well-attended seminar.

Wayne Raney, Kyzen’s Process Engineer, led the first day by presenting the technical paper “The Five Cleaning Forces.” The presentation focused on choosing the correct cleaning process for the surface contaminant and discussed the importance of cleaning prior to conformal coating. Study results demonstrate the importance of cleaning the substrate prior to coating, regardless of the type of flux residues, a principle supported by other conference presentations on best practice guidelines.

Techspray, Compliance Engineering Inc., HumiSeal, Henkel International (Loctite), Indium Corporation, IPC, Nordson MARCH and Nordson YESTECH also participated in the conference, with Kyzen being the only precision cleaning company represented.

“Kyzen was very excited to speak about best practices in conformal coating,” shared Wayne Raney. “I saw a great need in understanding the importance of cleaning prior to conformal coating and Kyzen received numerous inquiries on general cleaning issues as well. Nordson ASYMTEK did an excellent job putting the program together, allowing the participants to walk away with valuable information on the conformal coating process from beginning to end.”
