Computrol, Inc., a world-class provider of mid- to low-volume, high-mix electronic manufacturing services to OEMs, purchased a Trident LD Automatic Defluxing System from Aqueous Technologies, Corp. during the recent IPC APEX EXPO in Las Vegas. Aqueous Technologies is North America's largest provider of batch defluxing systems.

Computrol purchased the Trident LD as part of its continuous effort to help its customers realize significant improvements in cycle time, asset utilization, reliability, flexibility and responsiveness.

"The Trident LD will replace our existing batch cleaning system at the Meridian-Idaho plant, and will be used for solvent-based cleaning of high-reliability electronics assemblies. This acquisition is part of our ongoing quest to remain a leader in the CEM world by using state-of-the-art equipment and processes to meet our customers' quality and delivery requirements. We chose this system because it is technologically superior and environmentally friendly," said Farid Anani, Computrol's Manufacturing Manager.

"I had the opportunity to tour Computrol's facility and was completely impressed. Computrol has managed to create a unique company culture that is obvious from the moment one sets foot into the lobby," said Michael Konrad, President of Aqueous Technologies Corp. "Aqueous Technologies is proud to partner with Computrol. Their investment in a Trident automatic defluxing and cleanliness testing system further demonstrates their commitment to providing quality services to their customers."

The Trident LD is capable of removing all flux residues including rosin, no-clean and water soluble. Both lead and lead-free flux residues may be removed using the Trident LD. Trident LD is equipped with an automatic chemical injection system that automatically adds a programmable volume of defluxing chemical to the wash water. Additionally, the system is equipped with a closed-loop wash solution recycling system.

The Trident LD is equipped with a host of standard features including programmable maintenance reminders, remote SPC viewing, SPC data USB export and a built-in chemical management system.

Computrol will install the Trident LD at its manufacturing facility in Meridian, Idaho, where the company specializes in turnkey electronics contract manufacturing; complete electronics assembly; single- and double-sided PCB assembly; cable assembly; wireless harness assembly; supply chain management; SMT, through-hole and mixed PCA; BGA assembly; press-fit and backplane assembly; electro-mechanical and subassembly builds; complete box builds; flying probe test, in-circuit test and functional test; and RoHS compliant/lead-free procurement and assembly.

Computrol, Inc. (http://www.computrol.com), with manufacturing facilities in Meridian, Idaho and Orem, Utah, is a leading national provider of high-quality, low-volume electronics manufacturing capabilities, serving military, medical, aerospace, broadcast and general industry customers.
