A consistent, high purity nitrogen supply is a must when soldering with a selective soldering machine in an inerted atmosphere. Pillarhouse recommend a minimum of 50ppm (99.995%) for good solder joints and the current generatorsupplied by Pillarhouse achieves this at a flow rate of 40 litres/minute. This is enough flow to inert most standard AP style nozzles. Following the release of new selective soldering machines with multiple solder baths and the selection of larger nozzles to choose from there is a requirement for a higher flow rate. The new Pillargen 80 has been developed with this is mind and will provide a flow rate of 80 litres/minute, still providing the same purity of 50ppm. Both of these units have a fully integrated communication protocol designed to work with the Pillarhouse current range of machine and if used with another manufacturers machine there is an optional hand control unit. These along with many other process enhancing functions, mean pillarhouse continue to lead development of selective soldering technologies.
