New IPC Study on North American PCB Industry Forecasts Growth to Resume in 2012

Sep 19, 2011

While the volume of North American PCB production remains flat, sales of PCBs by North American manufacturers returned to strong growth in 2010. Sales of rigid PCBs were up 18 percent and sales of flexible circuits grew 16 percent in 2010. These are among the trends explored in 2010-2011 Industry Analysis and Forecast for the PCB Industry in North America, recently released by IPC - Association Connecting Electronics Industries®.

The survey-based report presents data and analysis on market trends in the North American PCB industry, including sales history,  trends in materials, sales by product type, production mix (high-volume vs. quick-turn vs. prototype), revenue trends from value-added services, industry end-markets by product type, and U.S. imports and exports. The report includes forecasts for PCB production in North America and worldwide through 2014, and historical data showing the long-range trends.

Formerly published as two separate documents, this comprehensive report covers both the rigid PCB and flexible circuit  industries  A representative sample of 40 North American PCB manufacturers participated in the survey, with $2.3 billion in total sales, accounting for approximately 55 percent of the North American market. Companies that  participated receive the report free.
