Sep 07, 2017 John Mitchell, IPC president and CEO, issued the following statement on a recent federal court decision to nullify the U.S. Department of Labor’s expanded overtime rules.
“IPC applauds the court’s decision to bring an end to the proposed overtime regulations that threatened to affect many of our member companies. This is a victory for smaller businesses around the country that expressed concern over the drastic changes the rules could have required.
“Over the last year, IPC brought member company executives face-to-face with members of Congress to discuss the impacts of this regulation; encouraged calls and letters to key policymakers; sent letters on behalf of IPC; and joined coalition statements. Additionally, IPC collaborated with the Partnership to Protect Workplace Opportunity, a broad-based business coalition, in advocacy and education efforts.
“IPC will remain engaged on this issue while advocating for regulations that ease the burden for smaller businesses and create the opportunity for innovation and growth.”
