IPC Releases APEX 2003 Professional Development Schedule

IPC - Association Connecting Electronics Industries has announced its plans to showcase 19 new tutorials and workshops at IPC SMEMA Council's APEX 2002, taking place March 31-April 2, 2003, at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, Calif.

"We've overhauled last year's professional development schedule and created a 62-course mix that will offer comprehensive sessions on today's essential industry issues," said Alexandra Curtis, IPC continuing education manager. "Plus we've coupled these courses with renowned industry experts who will better train the industry on assembly processes, advanced assembly processes, inspection, quality reliability and environmental issues."

This year's tutorials and workshop schedule includes 17 full-day courses and 45 half-day courses on Saturday, March 29; Sunday, March 30; and Wednesday, April 2.

Highlights of the new half-day courses include:

Understanding the Value of Patents - Mark Nowotarski, Markets, Patents & Alliances LLC

Lead-Free Solder Technology, Selections and Applications - Dr. Jennie Hwang, H-Technologies Group Inc.

Lead-Free PCB Surface Finish and Component Coating - Dr. Jennie Hwang, H-Technologies Group Inc.

Solder Paste Printing Technology for Dummies - Bihari Patel, Bihari Patel SMT Connections Inc.

Highlights of the new full-day courses at APEX 2003 include:

Lead-Free Soldering: Metallurgical Fundamentals Reflow Application and Challenges - Dr. Ning-Cheng Lee, Indium Corp. of America

Electronics Manufacturing with Lead-Free, Halogen-Free and Conductive-Adhesive Materials - Dr. John Lau, Agilent Technologies, Inc., and Dr. Ning-Cheng Lee, Indium Corp. of America
