IPC ELECTRONICS TRAINING MEDIA NOW OFFERS AUTOMATED TESTING FEATURE

Aug 25, 2010

BANNOCKBURN, IL - IPC — Association Connecting Electronics Industries® announces a new automated testing feature now available for purchasers of IPC electronics assembly DVD or OVT (Online Video Training) products. Automated testing can be used in conjunction with any of IPC’s extensive library of electronics assembly training videos, verifying understanding in key subject areas. The auto-testing programs include the ability to print out a certificate of completion that indicates the training module name, participant’s name, date of evaluation, and test score.

“The automated test feature was born out of customer demand for a comprehensive, computer-based media training solution with low per student cost and ease of implementation,” notes Steve Donaldson, IPC assistant director of media training. “It was also designed to be flexible enough to mesh with existing learning networks.”

This convenient evaluation tool allows students to take the test at any time, with no password required. Automated e-mail notification of student test performance can be immediately generated and distributed to a supervisor, human resources manager, or training administrator.

Developed in cooperation with volunteer technical experts, IPC multimedia training programs cover a broad base of industry concerns, including electrostatic discharge (ESD) control, IPC-A-610 acceptance criteria, chemical safety, moisture sensitive components and more.

Available in DVDs suitable for group presentations, and in computer-based format for self-paced learning, the training videos are offered in multiple languages and with subtitles for the hearing-impaired. IPC video training is also licensed for integration into Learning Management Systems (LMS).

Free online reviews are available at http://www.ipctraining.org/demos, allowing potential buyers to preview the contents of all IPC electronics assembly video training programs.

For more information on the free testing programs, visit http://www.ipctraining.org/ovt/test. A complete overview of the IPC multimedia training can be found at http://www.ipctraining.org.
