Card-to-cable Connector Meets QS9002 Standard

Feb 20, 2003

The ODU Mini-Fix card-to-cable connector is designed to withstand hundreds of mating cycles with high contact security and mechanical stability.

Units developed for the automotive industry have QS9002 standards approval, and the component is already being used in GPS systems by leading manufacturers in both the specialist and family car sectors.

Developments in mobile communication technology have given rise to many devices, frequently called cellular engines, GPS navigation systems being typical of these.

In this situation the Mini-Fix not only makes it easier to disconnect circuits for service and repair but its inherent mechanical stability copes well with the rigours of the application.

Mini-Fix has a 1.27 x 2.54mm contact grid and is available in 10, 20, 30, 40 and 50-way.

Maximum contact resistance is 6mohm, and mating force is 0.18N per contact.

Two types of latching are available if required; plastic side levers giving the component an assembly height of 12.7mm or a metal clip that reduces the assembly height to only 9mm.

Components in the range include straight and angled solder-in headers, straight SMT headers, IDC sockets to mate with the headers and solder-in PCB connectors to suit most production requirements.

Apart from automotive applications the connector can be used in medical equipment, test equipment, industrial electronics, data collection systems and general instrumentation.
