BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 4, 2003--Teradyne Inc., (NYSE:TER) today announced that for the second consecutive year, two of its divisions, Assembly Test Division (ATD) and Teradyne Connection Systems (TCS), are recipients of the 2003 Service Excellence Awards presented this week at APEX, a major electronics manufacturing trade show, in Anaheim, CA.
Teradyne Connection Systems was the overall winner in the Electronics Manufacturing Services Providers category for medium-sized companies (revenues between $100 and $500 million). Teradyne's Assembly Test Division received an award in the Electronics Assembly Equipment Suppliers category for electronic assembly equipment.
The awards, which are sponsored each year by Circuits Assembly magazine, recognize electronic manufacturing services (EMS) companies, electronic assembly equipment suppliers, and software companies demonstrating outstanding performance in customer satisfaction. Awards are presented to companies receiving the highest cumulative scores from their customers in the following areas of service: dependability, manufacturing quality, responsiveness to changes and requests, technology and value for the price.
"We are very excited to receive this award because it is based on direct input from our customers," said Bill Doherty, Teradyne Connection Systems' EMS unit manager. "Achieving the overall award is particularly important because in today's environment, EMS providers must excel in every category in order to meet customer expectations."
"This award is evidence of the determination of our global support team to significantly differentiate Teradyne from the competition by providing the highest-level of value-added services in the industry," added Michael Gildea, manager of North American Support Services for Teradyne's Assembly Test Division.
Accepting the award at the APEX conference for the Assembly Test Division were Don Naugler, Product Manager and Charla Gabert, Marketing Communications Manager. Gary Greenberg, Operations Manager, Teradyne Connections Systems, accepted the award for Teradyne Connection Systems.
