Industry's First Dual Frequency Ceramic Package Programmable Oscillator Developed by Fox

Aug 29, 2001

Fox Electronics, has announced the availability of the frequency control industry's first dual frequency ceramic package programmable oscillator. This newest JITO-2, the latest in Fox's expanding line of Just-In-Time Oscillators, provides any standard or custom frequency from 340kHz to 250MHz, plus any other frequency representing the selected frequency divided by 2, 4 or 8. For example, a single device could be furnished with a frequency of 250MHz and a second frequency of 125, 62.5 or 31.250MHz. This eliminates the need for a second device in many applications.

As part of the Fox JITO program, these oscillators are shipped immediately for sample quantities and within 10 days for production quantities.

The company also announced that it is in the final stages of development of the first independent dual frequency programmable oscillators, which will provide engineers with any two frequencies from 340kHz to 250MHz in the same device also with samples shipped immediately and production quantities in 10 days.

The new "divide-by" dual frequency JITO-2 oscillators are currently offered in the popular, compact 5 x 7.5mm ceramic package with a frequency stability of +100, +50 or +25ppm over a temperature range of -40°C to +85°C and a stability of +20ppm over a temperature range of -20°C to +70°C. They offer a choice of +3.3V or 5.0V supply voltages, with CMOS outputs.

The JITO-2 line also provides tremendous supply chain and inventory management flexibility by allowing orders to be cancelled and/or rescheduled any time up to 10 days before shipment.

Pricing for a 5 x 7.5mm SMD ceramic JITO-2 with frequencies of 80MHz and 20MHz, a stability of +100ppm, and temperature range from -20°C to 70°C, in 3.3V or 5.0V versions, starts at $2.12 each in quantities of 1,000. Parts are shipped in 10 days or less.
