During his time as chairman, John worked to improve relationships and equipment compatibility industry-wide in order to best serve industry customers through a number of initiatives. His biggest focus was to make the council more relevant globally. The electronics industry has globalized rapidly and his goal was to gain involvement from Asian and European companies to ensure that customers in all regions are best served. Operating globally is natural for John, and he worked to ensure that the IPC SMEMA council operates that way as well.
“Our industry has gone through some challenging times during the last few years. Leading the IPC SMEMA Council (comprised of the industry’s leading suppliers) to continue to focus on the long-term good for our customers and become more global despite the market challenge has been an honor,” said John Hartner, Executive Vice President of Dover Technologies International and CEO of Everett Charles Technologies.
