Juki Automation Systems, Inc., a world-leading provider of automated assembly products and part of Juki Corporation, will introduce the new Juki TTC (Track, Trace, Control) software developed in collaboration with long-term partner Cogiscan in Booth #1137 at the upcoming IPC APEX Expo, scheduled to take place February 28-March 1, 2012 at the San Diego Convention Center in California. Cogiscan is the leading TTC solution provider for the electronics manufacturing industry.
The software is a natural extension of the award-winning IFS-X2 Intelligent Feeder System for Juki placement machines. It provides the same level of closed-loop validation, tracking and traceability for other types of SMT machines and related materials.
At APEX, Juki will demonstrate the TTC software for a complete SMT line including a Juki screen printer, placement machine and reflow oven. In addition to components and feeders, the software tracks and validates all tooling and consumables, including solder paste, stencils, squeegees, etc. The TTC software also validates that all machine programs and associated parameters, such as reflow profiles, match the active product that is running on the line. All of this data is combined with the original IFS-X2 traceability report, featuring the highest level of component-level traceability, down to the Reference Designator.
Steve Nadeau, Juki National Sales Manager, explains, “This is a significant milestone for Juki. During the past few years, we established a leading position in the industry as a provider of placement equipment with outstanding reliability and customer support. On the software side, IFS-X2 is well established as the industry leading solution for setup validation, inventory management and traceability on placement machines. Now, we are leveraging our position and expanding our product offering into other areas of the assembly process.”
Offering complete line-level and factory-level solutions requires more than putting together a series of good machines. It requires an integrated software solution with a common user interface and a central database to track all materials flowing through the factory. The Juki TTC software ties together the incoming data from all machines. Since this solution is based on the Cogiscan platform, it also can be integrated with other vendors’ equipment, which is a key requirement for a factory-wide TTC system.
François Monette, Co-President at Cogiscan, said, “We are thrilled with this new OEM product development. We appreciate this opportunity to expand our participation in Juki’s success and we look forward to continue growing together.”
Juki, a global leader in high-speed SMT Assembly equipment, has shipped more than 24,000 machines worldwide since 1987.
