Juki Automation Systems (JAS), Inc., a world-leading provider of automated assembly products and systems and part of Juki Automation Systems Corporation, announces that it was awarded three 2018 Mexico Technology Awards. The company won in the category of Storage Systems for its Autonomous Material Handling System, Pick-and-Place – Low/Med Volume for the RS-1 Placement Machine, and Printing for the G-Titan. The awards were presented to the company during a Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2018 ceremony that took place during the SMTA Guadalajara Expo & Tech Forum.
The new G-Titan Screen Printer is equipped for lights-out manufacturing and quality print control, which sustains optimal print conditions. The printer features a new interface with a modern look and many standard features, including: touchscreen LCD, stencil inspection, solder paste rolling measurement, stencil lock, support block crash prevention, and automatic solder paste dispense (500g jar).
Juki’s new Autonomous Material Handling System consists of the ISM3600 and ISM3900, an interface module, an elevator unit and the AGV designed to work as one unit. The complete package provides the unique ability to automatically store, retrieve, deliver, and return components throughout the factory. Components can be taken by the AGV from the main warehouse to the storage tower.
In the past, the placement head had to be mounted high enough for the tallest component on the PCBA, resulting in excess movement for short components. Now, the mid-speed RS-1 features an all-in-one, adaptive multi-function head utilizing one LNC120, 3D sensor, for in-flight centering, 8 nozzles at 12mm pitch, and a common diffuser for vision. The LNC-120 3D sensor moves up and down allowing automatic optimization based on component height, resulting in the highest CPH. With new vision recognition technology, the RS-1 provides easy data entry for both standard SMT and odd-form parts.
The Mexico Technology Awards recognize the best new innovations in the electronics manufacturing industry in Mexico. The goal of the award program is to celebrate the companies and people that are achieving the highest standards and driving the industry forward.
