The mid-range product line, a first for Siemens Dematic, builds on their award-winning modular manufacturing concept. Sharing a similar gantry concept with upper-end Siplace equipment, the new CS and CF will be introduced at prices that fit within the budgets of smaller, more cost-conscious manufacturers.
The CS is a medium speed solution and offers 20,000 cph at 68 um, and a component spectrum from 0201's to 18 x 18 mm. The CF, a flexible/fine pitch solution, provides 10,000 cph with accuracy up to 38 um. The CF can handle components from 0201 to 55 x 55 mm.
Both systems have 118 feeder tracks (8 mm). The CF is also available with an optional matrix tray changer.
The winner of the contest will choose one of these two models, based on manufacturing needs. The award period is for 12 months usage of the equipment at the customer's location.
Designed for high-mix manufacturing environment, the products feature quick changeovers, and include new programming and optimization software. They can be installed inline, and are also available for a stand-alone prototyping area.
Entrepreneurial PCB assemblers who would like the leading-edge technology, investment protection and global reputation long offered by Siemens Dematic are now able to attain those standards at lower prices. This enables them to proudly upgrade their factories with new, world-class manufacturing equipment, with smaller budgets than high-end equipment requires.
For full functionality, Siemens Deematic still offers its standard line of highest performance equipment. But with the Siplace concept the customer always gets feeder compatibility throughout the complete product range. This ensures that the investment is protected over time, as the manufacturer's needs grow and change.
The CS and CF are among five new Siplace machines Siemens Dematic will introduce at APEX 2003. For additional details on the contest, visit our website at http://www.siplace.com.
