Siemens Dematic Introduces Five New Placement Solutions at APEX

Apr 01, 2003

Siemens Dematic Electronics Assembly Systems, a Division of Siemens Dematic AG anounces the introduction of five new placement solutions at APEX, March 31 - April 2, 2003 in Anaheim, CA.

The first of the new introductions is the Siplace HF placement machine designed for flexible, fine-pitch and odd form placement suitable for in-line or all-in-one production. This machine is equippped with a fast and reliable linear motor positioning system that delivers 30 um at 4 sigma accuracy with a placement speed of up to 17,000 components per hour and a component range from CCGA's to one inch tall odd form's and 0201 to 125mm x 200mm. Additionally, the Siplace HF has an incredible 180 feeder inputs that allow multiple feeder set-ups for greatly reduced changeover times.

The new Siplace C-Series product line delivers world-class performance in a compact footprint and at a price that fits within the budgets of smaller, more cost-conscious manufacturers. These machines are designed for a high-mix manufacturing environment. The products feature quick changeovers, and include new programming and optimization software. They can be installed in line, and are also available for a stand-alone prototyping area. The CS machine is a medium speed solution while the CF machine is a flexible, fine-pitch solution.

For very high speed component placement coupled with best-in-class placement accuracy-to-speed ratios, the Siplace HS-60 is the industry leader. The HS-60 places the entire component range from 0201 to PLCC 44 with outstanding accuracy. A number of system elements have been optimized with the HS-60 including a new collect and place head, a new flexible conveyor and machine software to match.

The last of the new machine introductions is the Siplace S-27HM - a flexible high-speed component solution. Engineered with a two-beam gantry positioning system, this machine achieves a placement speed of 27,000 components per hour while placing components from 0201 to 32mm. Interchangeable placement heads allow the machine to adapt to fast changing demands on the production floor.

The Siplace modular platform of placement machines is recognized in the industry as the most innovative placement platform in the market today. All machines are developed with the same common feeders, common spare parts, and a common operator interface providing our customers with long-term investment protection and added value in different production environments.
