The contest drawing was held on the Siemens Dematic Booth on April 2nd, 2003. The lucky entry form was drawn from numerous entries submitted throughout the show by Mr. John Bubello, Publisher of SMT Magazine. The name of the winner was U.S. Digital Corporation located in Vancouver, Washington.
U.S. Digital is a small to mid-size designer, manufacturer and distributor of optical encoders, inclinometers, PC interfaces, digital readouts, motors and drives. Mr. David Madore, President of U.S. Digital Corporation stated, "When I was first approached at the show to enter the contest I was a little skeptical about entering, but now I am the very happy owner of a Siplace CF placement machine." Mr. Madore was at the APEX Trade Show researching placement equipment to take his company into the next stage of their business. He was on the Siemens Dematic booth obtaining information about the Siplace platform of equipment when he was encouraged by a Siplace representative to enter the contest.
U.S. Digital Corporation was given the choice between two Siplace C-Series machines, the Siplace CF or the Siplace CS. In the end, U.S. Digital chose the Siplace CF machine due to its multifunctional capabilities for both high speed and high flexibility. Mr. Madore stated, "We feel this machine will greatly benefit our growing business and fit to our diverse product mix."
The Siplace CF machine was installed at U.S. Digital this summer and is now ready for production. Mr. Greg Delasandro, Process Engineer at U.S. Digital said, "the machine was delivered on schedule and with the help of the knowledgeable Siplace service engineer the installation couldn't have gone smoother - I couldn't be more pleased with the entire experience."
Mr. Guenter Lauber, President of Siemens Dematic EAS Americas stated, "We are very pleased that our promotion was such a huge success. We will continue to support APEX with additional promotions in the future, and hope to see all of our customers and prospects at APEX 2004. We look forward to a long and lasting partnership with U.S. Digital and hope that our equipment will help them prosper even more in the coming years."
