Seika Machinery, Inc. Introduces Application to Remove Moisture from Cell Phones

Nov 05, 2009

TORRANCE, CA — November 2009 — Seika Machinery, Inc., a leading provider of advanced machinery, materials and engineering services, introduces a McDry application for the recovery of data and removal of moisture from cell phones submerged in water.

In Japan, the police department purchased McDry Ultra Low Humidity Storage Cabinets for their scientific investigation labs in all prefectures. The purpose for using the dry boxes was to remove moisture reliably from cellular phones that were submerged under water and to allow safe retrieval of data.

McDry cabinets are proven to be the quickest and most reliable method for removing moisture from cell phones. The heating temperature from blow or air dryers is known to cause damage of electronics components and resin parts. Additionally, when cell phones are dried through refrigeration, there is a high possibility that the interior of the cell phone may acquire even more moisture due to water condensation.

Numerous McDry products are used for the removal of moisture from cell phones in Japan, including the MCU-201, MCU-340, MCU-401 and DXU-1001.

For more information about Seika Machinery’s McDry models or to find out more about how Seika can help remove moisture from cell phones, contact Michelle Ogihara, Sales & Marketing Manager at 310-540-7310, or on the Web at michelle@seikausa.com.
