Over the past month, DEK and its Mexican-based representative, Interlatin, have embarked on a Productivity Solutions Tour that has so far hosted four events in three cities and attracted nearly 150 customers. Setting up shop in Guadalajara, Monterrey, Tijuana and early next month in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico, the technology-rich Productivity Solutions Tour program is effectively enabling assembly specialists to get even more out of their print processes.
As a full-day, hands-on experience, the Productivity Solutions Tour allows DEK customers to immerse themselves in the latest print technology, process advances and forward-looking manufacturing trends. Leveraging the knowledge of the DEK and Interlatin teams, event delegates are able to discuss and develop customized approaches to address their manufacturing challenges, while sharing knowledge among industry peers.
Because of the diversity of the Mexican manufacturing landscape, crafting a program that presented multiple print process solutions was essential. “Our customers in this region span a variety of market sectors from top-tier EMS firms to OEM automotive component manufacturers to consumer/telecom customers, among others,” notes Jose Perez, DEK’s Sales and Applications Manager for Mexico and Latin America. “The beauty of the Productivity Solutions Tour is exactly what the title of the event suggests - DEK has a multitude of solutions for improved productivity, no matter what the manufacturing environment.”
Of particular interest to program attendees was data highlighting the effectiveness of DEK’s Paste Roll Height Monitor, Stinger dispensing capability, ProActiv transfer efficiency technology and Over Top Snuggers (OTS) close edge printing clamp system. Raul Baltazar Jauregui, SMT Process and Maintenance Manager at well-known EMS Flextronics, found the new product information of great importance. “These kinds of events help us learn equipment and process needs,” says Jauregui. “In addition, we value the opportunity to be able to share experiences with other users of DEK equipment.”
Other attendees also found the peer interaction to be beneficial, capitalizing on the opportunity to share successes among like-minded DEK customers. Mikel Lasa, Operations Engineer at automotive and industrial EMS firm Mexicor, comments, “Presentations of the new products along with the perspective from engineers who work day in and day out on production issues were very instructive. This was a great program.”
The next DEK and Interlatin Productivity Solutions Tour event will be held in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico on December 8, 2011 and dates throughout 2012 will be announced soon. For more information or to register for the December 8th program, please send an e-mail to smt@interlatin.com.mx.
