Metcal today announced that its new series of cutting-edge rework and repair workshops will commence in June 2015. The workshops will discuss the latest techniques to address contactless site cleaning and rework as well as repair of a variety of applications.

The first two workshops will take place in the Portland, OR, and Orange County, CA areas. The Portland workshop will be held on Tuesday, June 16, 2015 at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel in Beaverton. The Orange County workshop will follow on Thursday, June 25, 2015 at the Wyndham Hotel in Garden Grove. Both workshops will go from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. and will be preceded by a hosted breakfast at 8:30 a.m.

The workshops will include multimedia presentations, hands-on demonstrations and instruction, and will conclude with a Q&A session. Applications and topics include rework approaches for PoP/BGA/0201/LED. The afternoon is open for additional rework application questions and attendees are welcome to bring in boards.

Rick Talbot, Regional Sales Manager, will host the first two seminars. Mr. Talbot commented, “We look forward to getting our new rework tour on the road. This will be the first opportunity to see the new Metcal Scarab Site Cleaning System in action and we are excited to demonstrate it as well as get reactions from the attendees.”

The workshop is recommended for manufacturing engineers, production managers, SMT process engineers, repair managers and technicians. Attendees are urged to visit www.metcal.com/workshop and register early because the first 20 to register at each location will be admitted for free.

After the June workshops conclude, Metcal will begin an extensive tour in key markets around the country in September 2015. The full schedule will be announced at a later date.
