Insight to Distribute Anadigm Products Throughout the Americas

Oct 14, 2002

SAN DIEGO, October 11, 2002Insight, a leading global semiconductor distributor and a member of The Memec Group, announced today it has entered into a distribution agreement with Anadigm, the inventor of the Field-Programmable Analog Array (FPAA). Under the agreement, Insight will offer the full line of Anadigm products throughout the United States, South America, Mexico, and Canada.

The analog equivalent of a field-programmable gate array (FPGA), Anadigms FPAAs allow designers to implement analog signal processing functions in a CMOS-based silicon chip that cost-effectively replaces discretes or ASICs. With FPAAs, analog circuitry can be reconfigured during development, in the field, or on-the-fly by an embedded microcontroller within the end system. Using AnadigmDesigner EDA software tools, users can fully simulate an analog design and immediately download it to the FPAA for testing and validation.

With extensive experience in FPGA and field-programmable digital array (FPDA) devices, Insight will apply its expertise and current software and support infrastructure to Anadigm technologies.

"The user-friendly technology from Anadigm provides Insight with compelling solutions for our customers. It demystifies analog design, especially in the filter arena. We are excited to add Anadigm to our portfolio," said Karen Worley, Insight president and CEO.

"Insights experience in bringing field-programmable solutions to designers is a natural fit with Anadigms mission of bringing analog into alignment with the industry trend toward integrated reconfigurable hardware," said Deborah OConnell, vice president of Worldwide Sales at Anadigm. "Were very enthused to be working with such a qualified, talented sales force with Insights proven track record."
