SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH April 20, 2005 - Parvus Corporation today announced that it now has stock for all four of its new Celeron-based PC/104-Plus and PCI-104 embedded processor boards. Designed around the new ULV Intel Celeron Tualatin processor and Intel 815E chipset, the SpacePC 1450, 1451, 1453, and 1850 CPU modules are ruggedly designed, Single Board Computers (SBCs) ideally suited for mobile embedded computing applications.

The three PC/104-Plus models (SpacePC 1450, 1451, and 1453) incorporate a unique aluminum heat spreader plate on top of the processor boards so that sealed embedded systems can reliability operate from -40C to +85C without a fan. Extensive thermal analysis has been performed to ensure that components are not stressed by excessive temperature load when Parvus-recommended mounting instructions are followed.

These three products also integrate 256MB of RAM soldered directly onto the boards - to guarantee RAM compatibility, further enhance thermal performance, and ensure operation under shock and vibration stress when used in mobile applications (i.e. trains, buses, aircraft, tanks, vehicles, etc.). The 1451 and 1453 are differentiated from the 1450 in that they also support USB 2.0 or Gigabit Ethernet (1000Mbps).

The PCI-104 form factor model, the SpacePC 1850, is targeted for more cost sensitive applications with more moderate thermal requirements. It includes the same basic set of onboard peripherals as the three PC/104-Plus models (USB 1.1, Fast Ethernet, VGA, Serial, Audio, Keyboard, Mouse, IDE, etc.), but alternatively integrates finned heatsinks on top of components, SO-DIMM SDRAM memory (up to 512MB), and an LVDS video interface (in addition to VGA). The 1850 follows the new PCI-only architecture of the PC/104 specification (known as PCI-104), while the other three models are PC/104-Plus (PCI and ISA bus).

Like Parvus other SpacePC processor modules, these new boards are hardware compatible with most popular real time operating systems (RTOS), including Windows CE, Windows XP Embedded, Linux, QNX Neutrino, and VxWorks. A preinstalled ROM-DOS kernel, along with the system BIOS, come installed in the boards 1MB Flash EPROM to facilitate rapid customer implementation.

PRICING & AVAILABILITY

A limited quantity of the SpacePC 1450, 1451, 1453 and 1850 CPU modules is now in stock and priced from $557 to $979/each in volume orders of 100+ units. Some of the associated cable sets, development kits, and adapters may temporarily be on backorder. Customers can contact Parvus Sales for details: sales@parvus.com or 800-483-3152.
