When designing Hi-Rel electronic assemblies, functionality is critical and long term reliability is essential. This presentation provides an overview of the various failure mechanisms including the challenges associated with improper cleaning, board complexity, material mix, component and package types used. Steps to reduce the risk of failure and improve the long term reliability will be presented. Case studies will be reviewed.
Mr. Parthasarathy will provide one of six live lab demonstrations that offers attendees with an interactive hands-on learning session in small groups featuring the latest in cleaning equipment, ovens, bath monitoring techniques, and cleanliness assessments including ion chromatography (full board and localized) and visual inspection.
ZESTRON will cohost “The SMT Process: PCB Build to Reliability Assessment” a free collaborative cleaning and reliability workshop with Aqueous Technologies, Foresite, ITW EAE – Electrovert, and ITW EAE – MPM. The workshop is scheduled for Tuesday, June 20th at the ZESTRON Americas Technical Center located at 11285 Assett Loop, Manassas, Virginia, from 8:00AM to 4:30PM.
