Europlacer, a manufacturer of market-leading flexible SMT placement machines, will highlight the new ii-Feed and the multi award-winning iineo platform in representative smartTec GmbH’s booth #7-219 at the upcoming SMT Hybrid Packaging exhibition and conference, scheduled to take place April 16-18, 2013 at the Messezentrum in Nuremberg, Germany.
The ii-Feed Cart has a capacity up to 33 separate component channels and accepts any mix of 8, 12, 16 or 24 mm smart ii-Feed elements. The cart boasts many features such as a component range that begins at 01005; however, it remains fully compatible with previous Europlacer machine generations. Both the previous and updated generations of Europlacer’s tape trolleys can be used on the same machine. It can be operated in three different modes like the older trolley generation, (wired/wireless micro terminal, programming ii-elements separately offline, and with or without Stock Management options), making it the most flexible cart in the industry. ii-Feed elements can be placed at any trolley location, without stopping production, and because of the Europlacer turret head design, random positioning does not affect throughput. The correct loading plan is guaranteed.
Also on display will be Europlacer’s flagship iineo platform. The iineo platform features many enhancements to the Europlacer machine range such as a higher feeder count, increased board size and increased maximum component height. The platform uses the company’s proven core features, including turret head, intelligent feeders, powerful software — while introducing technologies such as linear motors and digital cameras.
The iineo is widely configurable, allowing for numerous different possibilities:
• Single or dual linear motor gantry including a rotary turret head with eight or 12 pickups
• One or two board positioning mechanisms
• Oversized board options
• Huge feeder capacity to front and rear, or front only
The single-head iineo can handle maximum PCB sizes of 18 x 27" with options to handle up to 24 x 63". The double-head system can handle maximum PCB sizes (standard transport) of 18 x 20" with options to handle up to 24 x 63". Both the single- and dual-head iineo systems can handle minimum PCB sizes of 2.4", board thickness of 0.020" to 0.1", maximum weight of 22 lb and under-board clearance of 1". Additionally, both versions of the iineo feature a SMEMA interface as well as board edge clearance of 0.12" above/0.20" below, and left to right, fixed front rail transport criteria with a height of 950 mm (adjustable from 890 to 975 mm). Board location on both is full edge clamping with fiducial correction.
