CyberOptics Receives Mexico Technology Award for MRS-Enabled SQ3000™ 3D AOI with Coordinate Measurement Capabilities

Nov 16, 2018

CyberOptics® Corporation (NASDAQ: CYBE), announces that it was awarded a 2018 Mexico Technology Award in the category of Inspection Equipment – AOI for its SQ3000™ 3D CMM. The award was presented to the company during a Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2018 ceremony that took place during the SMTA Guadalajara Expo & Tech Forum.

The world’s first in-line SQ3000™ 3D CMM (Coordinate Measurement) system is powered by proprietary Multi-Reflection Suppression (MRS) sensor technology for high-precision accuracy and high speed.

Combined with CyberCMM™, a new comprehensive software suite for 100 percent metrology-grade coordinate measurements on all critical points, it is much faster than a traditional CMM. For example, for a CPU socket metrology application the SQ3000 3D CMM is being used to provide highly accurate inspection and measurement on 100% of the thousands of pins in just 10 seconds, as compared to an alternate, slow, off-line method conducted on a sampling basis only that takes 10 minutes to inspect only a small amount of pins.

A fast and easy setup can be performed in less than an hour for programming complex applications as compared to a slow, engineering resource-intensive setup that typically requires multiple adjustments with traditional CMMs.

“We are very honored to win to our 8th award for an MRS-Enabled system,” said Dr. Subodh Kulkarni, President and CEO, CyberOptics Corporation. “Our customers are telling us that the SQ3000 system outperforms the competition, particularly for various challenging applications in SMT, semiconductor and industrial metrology. Winning this award bolsters the market recognition that our advanced MRS technology is superior to alternatives in terms of accuracy, resolution and speed.”

The SQ3000, deemed best-in-class, has been widely used for 3D Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) and is being used for 3D Solder Paste Inspection (SPI) for the best accuracy, repeatability and reproducibility – even on the smallest paste deposits. Combined with the award-winning, easy-to-use software, solder paste inspection has reached a new level of precision for the most stringent requirements.

Customers worldwide are using the SQ3000 3D multi-function inspection and measurement system to improve yields, quality and operational efficiencies in their manufacturing facilities.

The Mexico Technology Awards recognize the best new innovations in the electronics manufacturing industry in Mexico. The goal of the award program is to celebrate the companies and people that are achieving the highest standards and driving the industry forward.
