BPM Announces the Retirement of Lyman Brown, William White to Assume CEO Position

Jan 28, 2010

HOUSTON — January 21, 2010 — BPM Microsystems announces the retirement of Lyman Brown, executive vice president and chief operating officer, effective January 31, 2010. William White will transition back into the role of president and chief executive officer.

“I am looking forward to resuming my role as a full-time CEO again,” said White. “I am very optimistic about the opportunities I see for the company. I have a vision for the future that I am eager to see fulfilled in the coming months and years.”

White founded the company in 1985 while attending Rice University in Houston, Texas. His first product, dubbed the “Engineer’s Programmer,” was an immediate success. Under White’s management from 1985 to 2003, the company revolutionized the device programming industry with the introduction of the BP-1200, which eliminated ground bounce from high-speed PLDs; the BP-2100, which was the world’s first concurrent programmer; the BP-4100, which solved the problem of fine-pitch TSOP bent leads; and the development of the Flashstream programmer, which achieved true theoretical throughput on large flash devices for the first time. The company has been recognized with many awards including the Inc. 500, awarded to the nation’s fastest growing private companies.

“I want to thank Lyman for his contributions, dedication and tireless efforts since he joined the company in 2003,” said White.

Brown began his career with BPM Microsystems in June 2003 as the director of business development. He was promoted to executive vice president and chief operating officer in November of the same year.

“I have enjoyed my time at BPM Microsystems immensely,” said Brown. “It has been a pleasure contributing to its success these last six years. The company is well-positioned for a bright future. In particular, the key is providing our customers with superior service and solutions that support their device programming requirements.”
