Nihon Superior Co. Ltd., an advanced joining material supplier, is pleased to introduce its new SN100C logo. The logo replaces the originally used SN100C logo and will be used worldwide to brand this important alloy. The announcement was made during the recent IPC APEX EXPO in San Diego.
The three-ring logo has significance in its meaning for the representation of Sn-Cu-Ni, the fundamental composition of the SN100C solder alloy. Sn is represented by the red “S”, Ni by the blue “N”, and Cu by the black “C”. Tetsuro Nishimura, Nihon Superior’s president stated, “As one can see much vision went into developing the logo. It not only brands SN100C but also includes the infinity symbol which we want to represent our infinite wishes to continue to support our customers through the SN100C alloy.”
The company’s latest development is SN100CVTM P608 D4, a completely halogen free, lead-free, no-clean solder paste. Unlike silver-containing alloys that derive their strength from a dispersion of fine particles of eutectic Ag3Sn, SN100CV gains its strength from solute atoms in the tin matrix of the joint. The paste provides excellent wetting and reduces voiding.
