Rosenheim, Germany — Multitest, a designer and manufacturer of final test handlers and final test sockets used by integrated device manufacturers (IDMs) and final test subcontractors worldwide, announces that Günther Jeserer, Business Unit Manager, will hold a Docking and Mounting Interface Workgroup meeting at the upcoming SEMICON West exhibition, scheduled to take place July 13-15, 2010 at the Moscone Center in San Francisco. The meeting will be held on Wednesday, July 14, 2010 from 12-2 p.m. in Salons 1 and 2 of the San Francisco Marriott Marquis.

The workgroup is part of the CAST initiative, which was formed in 2008 by semiconductor device makers and test industry suppliers to engage in and resolve common industry issues related to higher test equipment utilization, lower costs, and greater standardization and return on test-related R&D.

The goal of the group is to minimize the number of docking solutions by addressing the tester, prober, handler, docking interfaces and manipulators. The group will work on a set of common definitions to enable the development of technical standards to insure reliable, cost effective docking and interfacing applications.

Günther Jeserer studied Electrical Engineering and Information Technology at the Technical University of Munich. In 1984 he joined Multitest Electronic Systems in Rosenheim, Germany. After holding several positions such as software engineer, project and product manager, he is now the Business Unit Manager for Gravity and P&P Handlers at Multitest.

Multitest Elektronische Systeme GmbH, Rosenheim is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of test equipment for semiconductor. Under the brands Multitest, ECT Interface Products and Harbor Electronics Multitest market test handlers, contactors and ATE printed circuits boards. It has offices and branches in North America, Singapore, Malaysia, the Philippines, Taiwan, China and Thailand. Multitest has an annual turnover of greater than 100 million EURO and currently employs more than 750 people.
