Integral Technology, Inc. (http://www.integral-hdi.com), a manufacturer and distributor of HDI electronic materials for the printed circuit board industry, has announced that PCB manufacturer TTM Technologies of Santa Ana, CA, will be the first factory certified to produce circuit boards using Integral’s revolutionary Zeta® dielectric films.

Zeta films are several proprietary materials designed to help OEMs and printed circuit shops compete with new demands in electronic manufacturing brought on by the need for miniaturization, multiple lamination cycles, and high thermal properties.

Zeta® Cap is a copper-clad, high Tg C-stage dielectric film designed to eliminate pad cratering in circuit board assembly. Zeta® Lam, a related dielectric film, allows ultra-thin HDI buildup layers (down to 12 microns) with improved thickness uniformity and transmission line performance.

To ensure rigorous standards of installation are met, Integral Technology requires PCB shops to commit to a certification program where process and equipment are brought into the standards required by these sophisticated dielectric films. This quality-assurance recognition indicates to OEMs, original equipment manufacturers, which shops are Zeta-certified.

We are confident Zeta films will change the way printed circuit boards are created,” stated Integral Vice President of Technology Chris Hunrath. “We want to ensure our product can meet the demands of OEMs and that requires flawless execution of our installation procedures.

The Zeta films have proven their ability to solve several manufacturing challenges brought on by the constantly evolving technology of the electronics industry,” Michael Moisan, TTM’s Global Vice President of Technology commented. “Integral’s keen focus on next generation materials is helping reshape our industry.”

TTM Technologies, Santa Ana, is an acknowledged world leader in the manufacture of advanced technology PCBs. Established in 1978, TTM is the largest PCB manufacturer in North America and one of the top ten PCB manufacturers in the world. Integral is also working closely with one of TTM Technologies’ Asia-Pacific sites and expects to award certification soon. This certification will be the Integral’s first in the Asia Pacific region.

Integral President Ken Parent stated, “Having TTM Technologies embrace the Zeta product and be the first certified board shop is a huge step forward for Integral. TTM has always been forward thinking and with the industry changing so rapidly, we are confident that we have a mutually beneficial partnership.”
