SMTA Acknowledges Industry’s Economic Challenges by Offering Free Sessions and Events at SMTA International

Aug 17, 2009

Minneapolis, MN - In an effort to accommodate the numerous companies affected by the struggling global economy, the SMTA is offering free events and cost-saving options for SMTA International attendees. The conference will be held at the Town and Country Resort and Convention Center in San Diego, California on October 4-8, 2009.

Saving money is crucial for companies during the current economic condition and the SMTA is serious about making networking and learning opportunities available for all companies. One important cost-saving offering is the 4-for-the-price-of-3 registration for companies sending multiple attendees. This year attendees have more free opportunities than in past years.

The following events are free to all attendees:

  • The Opening Session

  • Options for Controlling Moisture Sensitivity in Packages and PWBs During Assembly

  • iNEMI Roadmap

  • Supply Chain Management

  • Welcome Reception

  • Thermal Management Innovations

  • Reflow Soldering Best Practices for Profiling and Optimizing

  • Board Talk

  • Exhibit Floor Panel Discussions

For those who have can register for the Technical Conference, the SMTA is offering a free tutorial. On Thursday morning, October 8, star instructor, Rob Rowland, RadiSys Corporation, will teach his popular "Pb-free Reflow and Wave Soldering Yield Improvement" course free to registered attendees. Advance registration is required to ensure adequate space.
