GraphiCode, Inc., announces the release of GC-CAM 4.1.4, a software program that provides total control of manufacturing data, PCB design and verification for the fabrication of printed circuit boards (PCBs). The new release speeds the fabrication process, provides ease-of-use, compatibility with other PCB fab equipment and processes, and a high degree of accuracy and facilitates training.
An improved contour engine assists in the netlist extraction process and works on jobs with nets of up to 130,000. Drill travel is reduced up to two thirds with the new drill optimization routine. Example files illustrate basic functionality and can be used with training exercises in the Getting Started with GC-CAM for Windows Bare Board Fabrication manual.
Designers using Probot Flying Probe Machines are supported by this updated software in several ways. An SPT file enables the tester to make a valid Discharge Reference test on boards with split planes, without shorting or connecting split sections of the reference plane together, while an SIZ file enables the tester to selectively adjust accuracy performance for ranges of test feature size. This improves the accuracy performance for testing very fine features, without sacrificing any test speed.
GraphiCode's Postscript output has increased accuracy for designers using Postscript as a plotter language. The latest version of Accel (14) is completely supported with enhanced Accel P-CAD aperture lists, custom aperture recognition and improved IPC-D-356A output. GC-CAM 4.1.4 supports the large fonts used by Japanese and Chinese Windows, and runs on all the latest Windows operating systems including Windows 95/98, and Windows NT 3.51/4.0.
