— Aqueous Technologies Corp., North America’s largest provider of batch defluxing systems, announces that President Mike Konrad will present “Cleaning in a World of ‘No-Clean’” at 7 p.m. at the upcoming SMTA Carolinas Chapter meeting scheduled to take place on Thursday, March 15, 2012 at the Bose Corporation Headquarters in Blythewood, SC.
While many defluxing technologies exist, spray-in-air based technologies remain the most popular. Within the spray-in-air defluxing equipment marketplace are batch and inline defluxing systems. The shift of high-production lines from the United States to regions abroad has caused batch format defluxing systems to become the dominant defluxing configuration.
Konrad will discuss the best-practice design criteria of batch and in-line format defluxing systems. He will review various designs and their suitability to specific modern cleaning challenges including lead-free, high-density component population, under component impingement, and shadowing.
The presentation also will highlight the environmental impact of a defluxing process. Full, low, and zero-discharge configuration methods will be explained. Detailed examination of process effluent will be presented based on laboratory findings. Both evaporative and ionic filtration methods of providing a zero discharge configuration will be compared.
