At last month’s APEX event in Las Vegas, ECD was honored with one of the electronics assembly industry’s most prestigious awards, the Service Excellence Award. Unlike other contests that are voted on by a judging panel, the Service Excellence Award has particular cachet because winners are determined based on direct responses from participants’ customers, the true authorities of a company’s performance.
Hosted by Circuits Assembly magazine, the Service Excellence Award requires entrants’ customers to rank them on various criteria including technology, value for the price, responsiveness, quality and dependability/timely delivery. In the competitive Soldering Equipment category, ECD earned the top score and won the Service Excellence Award. Having delivered advanced thermal profiling solutions to the industry for 30 years, ECD prides itself on developing superior technology and providing equally outstanding customer support, making the award win quite validating.
“At ECD, we refer to our approach as ‘WOWing’ our customers,” explains ECD President and CEO, Todd Clifton. “This philosophy speaks to everything – from the technology we deliver to enable process efficiency to our team’s unmatched responsiveness and knowledge to our daily interactions with customers and partners. Service is a true differentiator and it’s why customers choose and stick with ECD. Winning the Service Excellence Award and having this fact illuminated for the wider industry is fantastic and we thank Circuits Assembly for offering a forum for this recognition.”
Customers that responded to the award survey regarding ECD’s performance were impressed with the company’s product capability and performance value, the speed of its responsiveness and the expertise of its support team.
“Without ECD’s products, our soldering processes could not be as tight as they are,” says James Guynn, Advanced PCB Specialist and Engineering Group Leader at The Lincoln Electric Company. “The quality of the data and the quantity of the measurements ECD tools supply are superior and the team’s responsiveness is excellent. I always receive a reply to any question within 24 hours and am never left wondering if I’ll get a return call.”
Octavian Costin, Process Engineer at Autoliv Electronics Canada, also had high praise for ECD’s team and its thermal profiling solutions. “ECD’s M.O.L.E. thermal profiling products are easy to use and address our current and future technology requirements,” notes Costin. “The reliability of the tools helps us make good decisions that align with our manufacturing goals, and the responsiveness to any request is exceptionally fast and from a very knowledgeable source.”
