Tampa, FL - Europlacer, a designer and manufacturer of comprehensive SMT placement systems for the global electronics industry, announces that it has hired Ed Conson as Customer Service Manager for Europlacer North America.

Ed brings more than 25 years of experience from his career in the electronics assembly industry. In his new role as Customer Service Manager, Ed is primarily focused on customer satisfaction.

“Ed’s background and disposition fit nicely into the demanding, yet, loyal and fun environment that we have established with our North American customers over the last 15 years. I’m really looking forward to working with him and this team as our business continues to grow,” said John Perrotta, Vice President, Europlacer North America.

Conson joins Europlacer from Tyco Electronics, where he worked as a Field Service Engineer and National Field Engineering Manager. Ed’s experience includes service and process expertise with screen printers, pick-and-place, convection reflow ovens, board handling of all types, servo-electric connector presses, selective soldering robots, singulation presses, routers, and other types of automated PCB assembly process gear.

Europlacer has been developing machines for electronics assembly since the 1970s and invented the intelligent feeder concept in the 1980s. After acquisition by Blakell Europlacer in 1991, the company moved away from split-axis to the inherently more capable X-Y architecture that underpins the company’s machines today. Europlacer’s policy has been to ensure wherever possible that technology purchased many years ago, especially feeders, remain compatible with the latest equipment. Europlacer designs and manufactures a comprehensive range of highly flexible SMT placement systems for the global electronics industry.
