Part of the VDATS-XP's power comes from its flexibility, said Loofie Gutterman, president of Geotest. The unit is designed for a broad range of modules for avionics, digital, and/or analog test. The VDATS-XP gives users the flexibility to configure the platform for specific applications, such as depot-level and maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) facilities.
Based on Geotest's GX7005A 6U PXI chassis, the VDATS-XP tester features an integrated MAC Panel Scout receiver, which can support up to 8000 I/O connections. The core system includes a Windows embedded controller, up to 256 digital test channels, switching, and user power all contained within a single chassis. Additionally, users can select from a variety of options, such as system power controllers, additional PXI chassis, built-in keyboard & mouse, touch screen, and assorted PXI modules.
